Sledge Hockey

What is Sledge Hockey?

Sledge hockey (known as sled hockey in the United States) is a sport that was designed to allow participants who have a physical disability to play the game of ice hockey. Ice sledge hockey was invented in the early 1960s in Stockholm, Sweden, at a rehabilitation centre.

The rules are very much like ice hockey with only a couple of changes, why not come down and watch or even give it a try. It involves 4 attacking and defending players with one goalkeeper.

It is open to all disabled and abled bodied players. Our local team Kingston Kestrals are always looking for new players. Contact us below for more information and training times.
